About the artist:
Christie Blizard is a Texas based visual artist working in a variety of media including drawing, public works, animation, violin performance, and installation. Recent exhibitions include an invitation to the Texas Biennial 2011, curated by Virginia Rutledge held in Austin, New American Paintings 96 South Edition to be out this October, and a solo exhibition at Lawndale Center for Art in Houston in November of this year. Other recent residencies and fellowships include the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, NH, Centraltrak Artist in residence program through the University of Texas at Dallas, and the SIM Artist Residency in Reykjavik. About the videos:
"These three videos use found sound that I have recorded through my mobile device and converted into sound waves using various programs. I am investigating how sound can be visualized and taken, in a way, back out of the digitization of it, but still being in it."
